Today is the day before Christmas Eve.
December 24 is a unique day when people are often open to hearing about the Christian faith.
When it comes to “Go Tell it on the Mountain,” we many of us have a bad case of the “uh’s”…
Telling the people around us about Jesus feels like uh…. wait what?
But we KNOW people need to hear about the hope that we have. And we are grateful that someone told US about God’s gift of salvation.
And contrary to popular belief, there are people who are open and ready to receive it! My friend Alice commented the other day, “my coworker really want’s to know about Jesus. It makes me feel bad that I have never really bothered to talk about my relationship with God till now.”
Rather than feeling guilt, I encouraged Alice to feel courage! And excited motivation for this good work God has prepared for her ahead of time.
That is my Christmas gift to you as well: a prayer for your courage. To bust through that comfort-zone barrier and simply talk about what you love… and Who loves you!
Sometimes courage isn’t enough. I get that. Maybe it’s lack of training or a too-busy life that keeps you from sharing your faith. Here are some helpful articles that might help:

Lord, I pray you spark excitement in this reader today. Allow that joy to spill over in ways that make much of You, specifically to the people in her life who do not know you, Jesus… yet. Help us not to miss the gift of sharing You this Christmas. By your grace and for your glory, give us courage and care for those You have already begun to pique their curiosity about Your great love to come to us. Thank you for being with us. Amen.
Let us come and adore him, then let’s go tell it!
